Notice. The full draft law (municipal ban zones, PLN 50,000 fines) was approved by the Council of Ministers on 14 July 2026 but still requires parliamentary approval and presidential signature — treat municipal zoning powers as PROPOSED, not yet in force, while the CWTON registration duty itself already follows from the directly-applicable EU Regulation 2024/1028.
How to register in Poland
- Register the property in CWTON once the operational portal is published — this follows directly from EU Regulation 2024/1028, independent of the pending domestic bill.
- Display the registration number on every listing once required.
- Watch for municipal zoning powers (Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, Sopot) — these are proposed in the draft law but not yet enacted.
- Housing communities may already restrict short-term rental in their own bylaws under existing civil law, separately from the new register.
