- Check the specific Budapest district — District VI bans private short-term rentals outright; districts V, VII and VIII still permit them.
- Register the property with NTAK, the national tourism data platform.
- Display the registration number on every listing.
- Note that Budapest-wide has a moratorium on NEW registrations through end of 2026 — existing registered listings can continue.
